{create} washi tape art with craft queen

Last week the lovely girls at Craft Queen sent us some washi tape to have fun with! And with valentines day coming up, I thought I would create a sweet and simple project to share.

This cute little artwork only takes about 15 minutes to create, but will fill your home with lots of love!

you will need:
+ washi tape (we've used pink oriental)
+ A3 paper (we've used lovely handmade paper with a deckle edge)
+ geometric heart template
+ scissors
+ pin
+ felt tip pen
+ frame

to make:
1. download and print out the template {download link for geometric heart template}

2. pop the template onto carpet or a mouse mat and, using a pin, create a small hole at each point the lines intersect.

3. place the template over the paper for the artwork, being sure to keep it square and in the position you would like the heart to be placed.

4. mark out the intersections using a felt tip pen through the pin holes. Hold the template in place and peek under to check the marks are visible. If not, go over each of them again.

5. using the dots and your template as a guide, stick the washi tape onto the art paper to create the geometric heart. We've created the outside lines of the heart first, then applied the internal lines.

6. use scissors to tidy overlapping washi.

7. frame your artwork and pop it in a special spot to share with your loved ones.

supplies:
Special thanks to Craft Queen for supplying the washi tape for this project.

Craft Queen have over 500 washi tape designs to choose from - can you imagine that? Five hundred!

The little cutie we used for this project is called 'pink oriental'. You can find it on the Craft Queen online store here - {pink oriental pattern washi tape}.

share the love!
If you try this project we'd love to see it! Please share a pic with us at tickle facebook or instagram @tickletheimagination or #tickletheimagination. Our favourite snaps will make an appearance in upcoming issues of tickle!

If you would like to share this project on your own blog that would be awesome! Please just use a single image and direct your readers to this post - thank you x
