{behind the scenes} a week of celebrations

Hello,

Happy Wednesday!!

The week since Christmas holidays has been a busy one - a flurry of emails, goal setting, action planning and getting stuck in to issue 19!

Entitled 'inkling', issue 19 is all about celebrating. There are so many things to celebrate in life, really there are - just step back for a moment and really appreciate what you have around you - fresh air, blues skies, flowers, smiles, hugs, gorgeous friends, a healthy family - these things alone call for celebration!

And then there are those special occasions that really shout for celebration - birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, new arrivals, the launch of an issue...so many things! Yes, on occasion I have been accused of going over the top for birthdays. Growing up, mum made sure our birthdays were the most special days of the year - it wasn't so much about the gifts or parties - they were just magical. I try to do the same for my children and for others. I just really LOVE a good celebration, I love the planning, I love making things look pretty, I love watching people enjoy themselves and escaping from real life for just a moment.

This week is full of celebrations in my life - lots of our gorgeous friends & family are celebrating their birthdays! Sending huge birthday wishes to you all - Erin, Heidi, Andy, Aaron, Paul, Rachel and especially Jacq, who is turning a special number this year!!

We're having a dinner party this weekend to celebrate and I have a little last minute styling to organise! Dinner will be Indian (yum!) and Jacq has a wonderfully eclectic style - so I'm going for a bohemian look. First port of call - pinterest! Here's a board I'm working on for inspiration...

Wish me luck!

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. Summer is crazy celebration time in my family. We're doing both my kids birthdays, my husband's birthday and my mother-in-laws birthday this month alone. Love a party!
